My name is Shnita Horton, I am your child’s new teacher. I am excited about this coming school year and I am looking forward to sharing teachable moments with your child.
I enjoy listening to music, reading and sitting on my couch watching Netflix. I am originally from Baltimore, MD (Go Ravens!!) but I am a true southern girl at heart. My husband and I have a blended family with five children (19, 16, 15, 15 & 2 years old). We also have a six-year Lab mix Rango is thinks he is the baby of the family.
I have been in the Early Childhood Education field for 18 years. I have received my Bachelor’s Degree in Birth-Kindergarten Education from Shaw University May 2012, I just resently received my Master’s Degree in Birth-Kindergarten Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction May 2017.
Teaching and taking care of children has been a passion of mine for many years, and I cannot see myself doing anything other then providing the best education for the children in my care. I want to learn more about children with diverse learning needs and how to support their development and families; with that being said I am very grateful to be given this opportunity and am very excited to be working with your child for this school year.
